Kenette Louis (b. 1976), born in Nassau, Bahamas, resides in Los Angeles, California. Kenette is a Haitian-American abstract painter whose primary medium is acrylic on canvas, with oil stick, creating an elusive, dreamlike state of painting. He is best known for his distinctive visual exploration of controlled fluidity — a delicate balance between intention and spontaneity.

Kenette creates abstract paintings shaped by the human form, memory, and language. His compositions are marked by expressive brushwork, fluid forms, and the intentional use of negative space and gestural lines. Word fragments appear throughout his work — not to explain, but to invite the viewer to look more deeply. His work is an ongoing dialogue between control and release, hardness and softness, where meaning unfolds through reflection rather than explanation.

Kenette's current body of work, Red Electric (2026), marks a turn toward a more defined, deliberate line and subject matter rooted in personal history and heritage — a clear evolution from the flow-based language of his earlier series.

Kenette holds a BFA from Syracuse University (1995–1999). Selected exhibitions include Urban Echoes and New Wave, both group exhibitions at Brentwood Art Center, Los Angeles (2024–2025), and O.S.D., a solo exhibition in Los Angeles (2025). His work Wave I was selected for the 48th Harper College National Juried Exhibition, Small Works, Palatine, IL (2026).
